Men's Wide Width Shoes

Get the room you need to roam. The difference between “medium” and “wide” shoe width sizes amounts to an increase of a quarter inch. That might not sound like much, but even a slightly wider toe box can make all the difference in the world to your comfort, especially if you plan on walking, hiking, and running over long distances. Not sure how to measure your ideal shoe width? Shoe width sizes are proportional to shoe length. Exact measurements vary by shoe type and size, but “medium” shoe width sizes for both women (“B” width) and men (“D” width) are at a length-to-width ratio of about 2.65 to 1. For wide width shoes (“D” width for women’s shoes and “EE” width for men’s shoes), this ratio is closer to 2.45 to 1. If you trace your foot on a piece of paper (try to be as accurate as possible) and divide its longest length by its widest width, you’ll have a better idea of how much extra room you need based on the above ratios.
